Experience

Some Statistics: 5 in AP Calculus AB 4 in AP Chemistry ACT: 32 MCAT: 14/10/10 34 For Math: In High School, I tutored fellow classmates in Algebra and Trigonometry. My high school curriculum was Integrated Math (combines Algebra, Trigonometry, and Geometry). The different facets of Math are combined, allowing each to build on each other over 5 courses throughout high school. In college, I tutored a Freshman in Calculus 1 (Math 115 here). He struggled to pass his Gateways (quizzes to demonstrate the fundamentals of derivation and integration). The Gateways are timed, online quizzes that can be attempted everyday. However, every student must eventually pass the Gateways to pass Calculus. After helping the student pass his Gateways, I helped him increase his Final Exam score by approximately 30% over his Exam 1 score. I received a 5 in AP Calculus and an A in Calculus 2 (Math 116). For Science: In college, I have taken General Chemistry, three courses of Organic Chemistry (210, 215, 420 for reference), and Physical Chemistry (Chem 230). Since these courses build on each other, I am confident in my ability to teach both basic and advanced topics of Chemistry. In Organic Chemistry 3, I received an A in the class and was asked by Professor Wolfe to be a TA in one of the Freshman Organic Chemistry Labs.

Hobbies

In my spare time I enjoy playing the guitar, cooking, running, working out, and playing golf when the weather permits. For the majority of my summers and semesters, I have worked at UofM Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Center in a microbiology lab. I study how protein pathways are manipulated in mutant cell lines. In my 3rd year at the lab, I have been put in charge of organizing the Freshman and Sophomore students who come to volunteer for the lab. I help them become accustomed to our lab and learn proper lab techniques and safety. I have also become a certified EMT-B, allowing me to work in an ambulance or in the Emergency Room as a technician. I am also in the application process for Medical Schools currently. If you need advice on Medical Schools, I'd be happy to help! I know it can seem very daunting and confusing During my time in college, I've also found a passion for business and personal finance. This led me to apply to UofM's Ross School of Business. I am currently taking an Entrepreneurial class on small business management and a finance class on Quant Portfolio (applying mathematical models to stocks).
