Hobbies

As an associate professor in the Biology field, I perpetuate knowledge and encourage learning. My goal in teaching is to cultivate the achievement of a base of concepts and learning skills to facilitate further learning and thinking. I have discovered in my years and experience in teaching, that one of the most gratifying aspects of an academic position is the opportunity to teach and interact with students. Whether or not they realize it, students have the liberty to explore and to think about problems in innovative ways. As educators, we have the opportunity to guide students’ discoveries, and gain knowledge in the process. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to experiment in Forensic Entomology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa — a field to be utilized by law authorities around the world, which offers a great potential of studies and research that enable Forensic Entomologists to elevate their capabilities in crimes and drug abuse investigations of homicide and suicide cases. Critical thinking is based on scientific thinking or the ability to discuss and relay information that is taught. My teaching is not based on final grades; rather, it is based on what they have taken away from the course and whether they are able to conceptualize the knowledge taught. I aspire for my students to be enthusiastic about the subject they are learning by encouraging group discussions, question and answer sessions and maintaining an open door policy. I want them to have an inclination to search above and beyond what is presented to them in class through my lectures and textbooks provided to further acquire and integrate knowledge they have learned. My teaching experience includes having taught and supervised practical laboratory classes to a broad range of backgrounds, such as undergraduate Biology and Entomology-major students, Zoology-major students, and students of the Faculties of Science, Pre-Dentistry, and Pre-Pharmacy having General Zoology as a study subject. I also supervised MSc and PhD Thesis. I easily adapt my teaching method to fit the needs and goals of the students’ needs. To conclude, I am very interested in this teaching position and joining your team/family. My background and experience demonstrates that I am a versatile professional who is committed to an interdisciplinary approach to Biological projects and teaching. Ill be happy to recieve your call at 8106187882 to start the unique biology experience:))))
